Tuesdays with Tracy (& Milo)
I did it. I posted this on a Tuesday. Only a week late...but it is what it is -- here are the 5-10 new updates about life at TRAX, Mind & Social, the Layover, and of course, Milo's house.
1) It feels so good to enter into new chapters. There is so much more to life. I wish I could shout this from the rooftop and I wish I had learned this 5 years ago-- When I started to experience it this year, it shook me to my core. It's funny how you get in your routine and your own "bubble" and think that work and chaos is all that's there... but goodness, when you experience something greater... you can't unsee it. You can't unfeel it. it becomes a part of you. I am so grateful for the people who have taught me this valuable life lesson.
2) I am so freakin proud of our team. We have a new release of promotions coming soon at TRAX and I cannot stop grinning because I again..am so..freakin...proud...of this...team!!! We are growing and growing and growing and our team is leaning on each other more than ever before.
3) We had a new release of the Layover podcast this week-- featuring Han Pat and Jarrett Morgan. We are still getting our groove and learning the trials and tribulations of the digital world...((I mean...sometimes things don't record when you think they are recording.....*thank god for alternative methods* so apologies for the sound limitations this round.) But I cannot tell you how much fun it was to connect with those dudes and hear their stories. This podcasting experience is something that is truly starting to fuel me up! Getting to connect with others on a deeper level ..especially outside of a workplace environment is really eye opening. I am loving the opportunity to learn from others experiences and giving them the ability to share their truth.
4) Let's chat business- In the short period of almost 5 years, I feel like I have learned a lifetime of business lessons... both the good parts and truly truly horrifying parts too (yes, those exist). As we enter into our 5 year of TRAX Analytics, I cannot help but sit back with gratitude for this experience and learning the following key lessons that I will carry to my grave and hopefully pass down to kids one day...
*Who you surround yourself with will have more of an impact on you (and/or your business) than you will consciously realize until you wake up or until the damage is done. Be VERY selective with your relationships, friendships, partnerships, and even clients!
*It's important to learn the word NO early on and use it regularly. Not every project, opportunity, partnership is a good one. It's okay to walk away. Create boundaries and honor them.
*Trusting your intuition and your gut will take you farther in life and in business than anything else. Even if you don't know the details at the time, you usually will know the right direction to move in if you get quiet and listen carefully enough. Simply taking one step in the right direction will start the momentum.
*Building a team and listening to that team will define your level of success. Truly successful businesses are not run as dictatorships. They are run collaboratively. The sooner you realize you don't know everything and have the confidence to admit that and then ask your team for their thoughts, the better. You run faster together... and it's a hell of a lot more fun than doing it solo and thinking you know it all.
*You are not here to be perfect. You are here to go through a journey and make a positive impact on those around you. Give yourself some grace to learn lessons, to win, and to lose. It's about the journey and staying authentic throughout it. Not the outcome.
5) I was recently interviewed on another podcast "Bootstrapped-The Lighter Side!" Getting the chance to share my story, how TRAX was built, the family ties to it-- it is so fulfilling. I also LOVE learning how other people podcast. In an effort to continue to grow The Layover-- we are downloading ALLLLL the experiences we can to get better and better. Check out the podcast here !
6) Our first Coffee Break with Mind & Social members was absolutely powerful. There is nothing better in this world than community and spending authentic moments with real people. We shared stories of our struggles, what we are trying to achieve for 2024, areas of strengths and weaknesses. It was truly a beautiful way to start a Monday. Cannot wait for more to come!
